  • Dr. M Lance Hirsh , DVM

    Dr. Hirsh is a 1991 graduate of The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. As part of his training, he completed an externship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston Massachusetts. He attended the University of Georgia as an undergraduate, where his field of study was Physics. Dr. Hirsh is a graduate of The Galloway School here in Atlanta, and resides in Grant Park with his wife Teresa and his twelve-year-old daughter Molly.  The Hirsh household also includes Oskar and Remi (the two rescue pugs), Teddy (the French Bulldog), and Sweety Poo the bird. In 1992, after working for a short time in Cobb County, Dr. Hirsh started The Veterinary Center of Buckhead. He has had the privilege of working with many associates and animal professionals over the years and currently works with his associate Dr. Greg Jenkins.

     Dr. Hirsh is active in many charitable organizations including PALS (Pets are Loving Support) where he as a major fundraiser. Dr. Hirsh is on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Humane Society. His interests include Marathon running, cooking and Travel. Dr. Hirsh grew up in the Buckhead/Chastain Park area, and is committed to staying and working in the community.

    Dr. Jenkins was born in Atlanta and grew up in Smyrna. He attended The University of Georgia for his undergraduate and then continued to attend The University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Jenkins currently lives in Buckhead with his 3 dogs, Vinnie, Iwi, Oscar, and his 2 cats, Biscuit and Endora. “I enjoy all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery. However, above all, I am a Pug enthusiast and will always have a Pug in one form or another. I look forward to meeting everyone and their pets!”

    Dr. Gracia was born in the Dominican Republic and at the age of 6 moved to Puerto Rico. She attended the University of Puerto Rico for her undergraduate studies and then headed to the University of Wisconsin in Madison to complete her veterinary degree. In Wisconsin, she met an Atlantan named Stephen whom she married this past June. Just recently they found out they're expecting their first addition to the family!

    Christy, an Atlanta native, started her career as a Veterinary Technician in 2002. Christy has always felt that animals bring a true love to our lives. After working in small animal veterinary clinics, Christy has developed a strong background in caring for pets. She started her career at the Veterinary Center of Buckhead in 2004. Christy is now the Coordinator of Technical Services. She enjoys educating clients, making new friends, and traveling. She continues to live in Atlanta with her husband Justin, their boxer Cain, and their cat Simon.


  • Sonya Ellison , Veterinary Technician

    Sonya has always had a love for animals. In her hometown of Thomasville, Georgia, she worked in a pet store while attending Thomas University for environmental studies. She spent her last four years in Panama City Beach, Florida working as a marine mammal trainer. She worked with some amazing mammals such as dolphins and sea lions. Sonya recently moved to Atlanta and began her career at The Veterinary Center of Buckhead. In her spare time, she enjoys diving, hiking, and being outdoors with her dog Bruiser.

    Allison, an Ohio native, has always possessed a deep love for animals.  Prior to moving to Atlanta, she worked with injured wildlife at the Ohio Wildlife Center’s emergency clinic.  Allison obtained her bachelor’s degree from the College of Wooster and plans to apply to Veterinary School at the University of Georgia.  Allison currently lives with her boyfriend, Ryan, her two cats, Lily and Bartleby, and a German Shorthair Pointer named Dozer.  She loves playing soccer, the arts, rock climbing, sailing, being outdoors, and hanging out with friends and family.

    Christopher was born in 1981 in Miami,Florida. He developed his love for animals at a young age. Upon graduating from high school in the top 10 percentile in 1999, he received his standard high school diploma as well as a certificate of curriculum completion in Vet. Assisting deemed valid by the State of Florida. Christopher attended Tuskegee University in Alabama. He graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences. Christopher moved to Atlanta to pursue a career with Emory University working as a Research Technician. After devoting two years to research, he felt it was time to shift gears which lead him to The Veterinary Center of Buckhead.

    Tom grew up with household pets and horses in his hometown of Cumming, Georgia. He has always had a love for animals. While still in high school, he started working afternoons and weekends with the Equine Medical Center in Suwanee, Georgia. He worked his way up to the Surgery Technician and worked there for 2 years. In 2002, Tom served as the Head Veterinary Technician at The Atlanta Equine Clinic. He moved to Buckhead in 2004 and started his career at the Veterinary Center of Buckhead. He has worked with the animals and clients, answering phones, and managing the monthly client communications. Tom is now the Coordinator of Client Relations. Tom enjoys shopping, traveling, biking, hiking with my dog Jasmine, boating, working out, camping, horseback riding, airplanes, and spending time with his friends and family.

    Being a resident of Atlanta for years, I recently married and moved to Marietta with my new husband and our two four-legged children, Dakota (pictured) and Kane. I enjoy walking our dogs by the river, watching movies, driving, races at Road Atlanta, and dinner dates. I have always been passionate about animals, and enjoy educating people about proper animal health care. I’m thankful to be a part of the family here at the Veterinary Center of Buckhead, and look forward to the many years to come!
